Suppose it could affect local residents? if the buildings are near to housing car doors slamming etc!and the fact that it has allways flooded on those fields i would of thought wouldnt be a good place to extend .Im not against the new college,s and better teaching is what should be foremost here!so Im more for it than against it!I do work in a school and these places have to be built!

I went to Towneley 1984-1989. I think it will be a good idea to build a new school on the playing fields,i just can't understand where the playing fields are going to be moved to.........The prairie,Barden? The school at the moment is very near to houses at the back of Todmorden Road. If it was on the playing fields there isn't a house nearby, and if the entrance is going to be facing the golf course then you would have to cross the bridge to get to it.......or come from the top of Brunshaw. I lived up Brunshaw for 17 years of my life and most of us went to Towneley, and i suppose that still happens,so why would residents care? Car doors banging?.........humbug........it's the drunken 14 year olds the residents think about

well, im not well up on the towneley site, but i think they are making noises about wildlife, and that it will eat up too much parkland. teds is the only catholic sixth form in burnley, and has one of the best 6th form records in the country, but the see fit to shut it and shumt us to the other end of town, with no direct bus service, and expect the teaching staff from the main school, st hildas and the new sixth form site to travel between the three centres all the time.
