No, all of Townley Park was given to the people of Burnley by the Townley family for outdoor recreation, and I think this is where a lot of the problems with this school stem from, because they tried to get it done without asking our permission first, same as the cricket club they were planning to build on the rec site. That said, It seems pretty obvious that as Burnley's population and the worlds technology grows, were gonna need bigger and better schools to give our kids the best possible start we can. I think a better idea would be a compromise, re-design and rebuild Townley High on it's existing site utilising the best aspects of the current school and replacing the worst, then build an annex on the playing fields, smaller than the planned super school.

Why not put it to them?

Anyone is welcome to speak to the council, you just have to give 24hours notice that you would like to speak and they put it on the agenda.

Alternatively if your 25 or younger you can speak through Burnley Youth Council, we meet 7-9 at the What Now Center in finsley gate. Except on Febuary the 9th where were meeting at the town hall for Elections for youth parliament.
