The Longside Raises £200 for Clarets Trust
The Longside Clarets Website [
www.thelongside.co.uk], part of the Sportnetwork group, has raised £200 for Clarets Trust at their Xmas Bash on the 17th December in Romeo & Juliet’s in Burnley.
This followed a successful and very enjoyable Sponsors Day at Turf Moor which included a kit presentation on the pitch with Claire Judd [Burnley's Assistant Physio].
The site were also privileged to name the Man of the Match against Watford and see Nathan Dyer be presented with Champagne by the site's Events Co-ordinator, Bev Fairburn in the presence of Barry Kilby and Dave Edmundson.
The party was held afterwards and a lively atmosphere was guaranteed after the events of the afternoon! [Burnley 4:1 Watford] Host for the evening was the effervescent Jeff Brown, and the guests were also treated to live performances from two of the contestants from the recent Trust `Stars for A Night' event Mo Shine as Elvis Presley, and Simone as herself rather than Britney Spears.
A raffle and buffet were laid on, and then Peter Pike, Chairman of Clarets Trust (who had dashed across town from another function) received the donation on behalf of the Trust, and then said a few moving words about the club we all love.
Bev Fairburn said "Everybody enjoyed themselves and I am so pleased the night was successful and that we raised so much money for Clarets Trust".
Dan Milner, Longside Publishing Team Co-ordinator added "I cannot thank enough, everyone from the Trust Steering Group and Burnley Football Club, in their support to us over the past few weeks. Also to all the Admin Team, particularly Bev, for their hard work. As for Jeff Brown and our guest stars, fantastic!"
Phil Lea, Longside Features Team Co-ordinator concluded by saying "It was a perfect day, this was the first of many fund raising events we intend to do for Clarets Trust and we must especially thank Burnley FC for all their help in making the Sponsors Day for our party of 12 so enjoyable. Further thanks go to Dan & Bev for making the Xmas party so successful"
