Sad sight

I went through Burnley Wood yesterday and was saddened to see the shops on the top end of Oxford Rd boarded up and ready for demolition and remember them in different times and the people there too!

i know the feeling kiki,, jasey's dad told me they went up airdrie crescent. where i lived until i got married ,he said it has all completely gone now..
it was a realy nice area when i was little but then the druggies and idiots took over .enough said

Worst thing about this is there are no plans to provide any shops in the Burnley Wood area, if you want a paper or a bottle of milk you will have to walk to Parliament St or Todmorden Road which isn't much of an improvement is it?

Well I've read the above and am no wiser. My wife is an ex Burnleywooder. From the top of Brunswick Street. Is there anything happening up there.Would someone fill me in please.

Didnt see much of Oxford Rd this time ! but we drove past Fir Grove and there are some lovely looking flats there now built in quite an old fashioned style where the old folks home once stood! We took our grandaughter to see the big bear at Towneley but the hall was closed on Friday! There was some workmen re-building the pond , didnt realize it was so shallow!
