Default Saxe Coburg in Nelson

I was wandering through Nelson at dinnertime, and i see our Greco-German prince was here. Visiting the townhall, Whitefields, and Oddies (probably the worst) Bakery (in the world).

I bet he had a really good time.

I haven't seen one in a while but the regulars had T-shirts with The Zoo (or similar) emblazoned across the front

Disagree with the oddies thing! I like Oddies ,and have bought their stuff for years. My favourites are their merinques and vanilla slices and wine slice which was iced marble cake with wine in! They no longer do this, maybe its only Burnley that made it?I also liked their little beef patties and their pork and pepper rolls. Haffners pies were good !not sure if they are made now?

I'm in agreement with the comment about the good things the Oddies bake or baked in the past. One in particular was the Wine cake which you can no longer buy anywhere, and I was wondering if anyone knew the recipe for this absolutely to die for cake.
