Changes to burnley and pendle

as if it could get no better. the genious' behind b&p have decided to revamp the service offered. they think it will be a great improvement. bull! where i live, the service is being withdrawn after 6pm, and there will be no service on a sunday. why? the other side of the circular route is getting 4-5 services per hour, at all times. why? that area is a trouble hotspot, not where i live, and they are taking away the busses!! if i want to go out after 6pm, i have to walk home, and i dont think my mum would want me to, so basically, they are condemning people who rely on these busses to stay in after 6pm. i want a bus after 6pm!!!!!!!!!!!!
what should i do? complain?

Get a petition up and complain to B & P buses......Make them listen to a few voices not just your own,that way they cannot ignore it!!

you think you've got problems?? My bus was taken over by northern blue from burnley n pendle...the service was reduced to 1 an hour and the price greatly increased. NOW...in yesterdays paper its been announced that the service is being withdrawn completely...NO MORE BUS ROUTE AT ALL!!

Incidentally...we have had hundreds sign petitions but have had no joy whatsoever...as yet!!

Just keep trying.......get in touch with papers........you must try all Avenues folks!!

Jason...we have got the papers involved...northern blue refuse to speak to them. Northern blue also claimed that residents have had lealets re. the bus withdrawal..we havent. MPs and councillors are also involved but so far nothing. Our only chance is if B and P take the route back.
Its not too bad for me as im young and fit and can catch padiham rd buses and take the 15 min walk to my house but the majority of bus users here are pensioners...they are going to feel trapped. I truly hope that there are enough ppl aware of whats gonna happen to make a stink about it.
For those reading this the route is the number 3 Cliften farm/Ightenhill service.

Disgrace, havn't seen the petition nor have recieved any letters. I'm getting onto the councillors round here, I've managed to contact someone who knows one of them so we'll see.

burnley and pendle can do anything the want they get away with murder. i live across from the turning circle at whitegate padiham.the other week we had a bus there at 04.45 until 05 05am ,revving the bus like it was going out of fashion and this is not a one off thing it as happened before.you ring up you get no joy. the head man there will not speak to anyone, i rang the council to complain, the same with them they said the can only take action against noise if its coming from a building and not a bus.in the end i contacted my local county councilor, because they own the land where the turning circle is, he managed to get it sorted out, for the time being but i know when it gets colder the bus drivers will not switch their engines off.either the bus company does not issue orders to the drivers, or the drivers thick i thing its a bit of both:stop:

BUt yes your all right, Northern Blue don't really give a rats backside about us, all they want is the quick buck that they get, if a route is not subsidised then it does not get kept if it cannot pay for itself.

Bound to happen once they gave us those skips on wheels (Northern Blue) for the day service.

in the evening but it was deffo a B&P one.

Yeah its B&P and 10p cheaper in the evening, northern blue rest of time.

S'OK!! Panic over. Ive spoken directly to the manager at northern blue...the burnley express got it totally wrong. The number 3 DAYTIME service run by northern blue will continue....however, the evening and sunday buses run by Burnley n pendle are going to be stopped. So, to recap...we will continue to receive a daytime service monday to friday but there will be no evening/nightime service or sunday service from anyone.

Good, I didn't fancy the idea of not being able to catch the bus to work if the car breaks down.

Mind you, there is the BEST service that will take nme to Lomeshaye from my door (almost) for less than it costs getting the normal 2 busses.
