Prayer room

Firstly im no racist,but i have been informed today,that where the loo's are in the town centre.Near the market,a prayer room has been allocated,for Muslims,people of faith from other countries.Does Burnley council have any idea of what s**t this could cause.

Maybe its in case they are constipated and need help. It would be better if they had a stall nearby selling draght guinness and mushy peas.

Unfortunately, there are also muslims that are born British.

Why they need a prayer room is beyond me, there are mosks & churches to pray in, even where people live thier own houses. no doubt something else has been taken away from the majority of the rest of us to make it.

Sounds strange to me! I always thought that you don't need a Mosk to pray in as it's a meeting place rather than a Church,I can only assume it's for everyone and it's probably lottery funded!

Don't they have to pray about 5 times a day? If so, it's probably a good thing to have somewhere private to pray (facing Mecca as well I think), in the town centre. I can't imagine someone getting enough peace in the market square to do the same!
One small room is not a lot to ask, I'd much prefer that to seeing minurettes and onion domes on our town's horizon and I wouldn't want to be woken at some ungodly hour by someone wailing into a loudspeaker calling people to prayer. After all, you hardly hear church bells anymore, as they are regarded as noise pollution!

lets also puit in a catholic room, and a mini synagogue, and a protestant room, and anglican, and jedi, and hindu, and jehovas witness, and seek,etc...

we went to the blue mosk in instanbul while on holiday ....it was a beautiful place but we had to take off our shoes and respect the faith which was only fair.............
i just think things are going a little too far over here...

we seem to be number 2 in this country and the coloured ethnic are number one sorry folks but if you are foreign the doors are open for you. no racist comment from me on here (being racist or calling racist is a criminal offence and can carry a penalty of upto 7yrs in prison as said on the news on 9th june 2005...

If we are dumping bin bags outside the town hall, why don't we turn some of offices in there into prayer rooms for religions of British past. I'm sure Stuart Caddy will donate!
