| takersbabe, silverscrim and Jason, thanks guys that's really heartening :cuddle: I'm touched really. You guys are right about xenophobia, to a certain it exists in every community sometimes it’s understandable but at other times it’s completely unnecessary, none of us are aliens out of outer space, I grew up with both white and brown kids and I can assure you really we’re not all that different from each other, we’re all human, everyone wants love… ok I’ll shut up on that coz I’m starting to sound overtly soppy. I know a few of the migrant generation South Asian Brits who are a bit reserved, can’t seem to get out of their own South Asian cliques, but I think that’s more because they’re apprehensive rather than bigoted and of course the linguistic and cultural gap makes it hard for them to communicate properly let alone assimilate, they’re not usually racist or anything coz if they had been they wouldn’t have come here in the first place… But with some of the younger generation born here who don’t assimilate, the culture gap is not an excuse they just don’t know any better, again it goes back to the ghetto culture they were left to grow up in by their immigrant parents who being new started their lives here right at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder, maybe immigrant parents need childcare lessons and learn about their new environments and societies before they start having kids so that their children don’t end up on the fringes of society. And Jason, yeah sure mate I’ll dig something up to shed light on my religion sometimes. Anyways good night everyone I’m off for now. |

| Thank you for your insight into your life and sharing with us what some of don't know abouit the asian culture and family life. We all have a view on the asian community, and most of it not nice..............I am becoming a volunteer to work with single parents (white and black) and i am learning all about the asian community as i am going to be working with them. I passed my volunteer course btw to do this as well. |

| I'm now closing this thread. Thanks to the user who checked (Not mentioning a name unless they give permission) the area and confirmed that there is no such thing as a prayer room in that location. There are facilities for washing however. I will end by saying so what if there was a prayer room? It would not be in your face and it would be multicultural.
