Friday dawned a bit grey and grizzly, but the forecast was for sun later in the day......what did we care about that...we were off home. I could quite happily have stayed another week. The hotel felt like a home from home.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, we did not meet one single member of staff who did not do things for us with a smile and a cheery word.
We went down to breakfast with a heavy heart. I took the cards down for Freda and John Maud and Audrey......I placed...

On the way back from Chichester, Brian apologised to all those on the tour who had wanted to make use of the optional excursion to the Downs and then to Arundel Castle - the home of the Duke of Norfolk...a staunch catholic from a long line of catholics...the Earl Marshal of the UK...and as such, responsible for all of the religious ceremonies within the Royal family,,,,,who strangely are head of the Church of England.

So he deals with the marriages, the dispatches, and the coronations....

Ma and I both slept well on Wednesday night....I guess we were both tuckered out.....my lovely glass of wine certainly helped.
I opened my book and promptly fell asleep...nothing to do with the book.

I peeped through the curtains early Thursday morning to see a leaden sky....not a hint of the sun peeping over the edge of the sea.
We had a morning excursion to Chichester to look forward to. I did so want it to be nice and sunny. Photo's always look better for a bit of blue...

Wednesday morning saw us both a bit bleary eyed...and certainly much less than bushy tailed.
We looked out over the Gardens and the morning looked to be bright and clear....the sky was suffused with a rosy glow as the sun rose out of the sea.......the forecast for the day had been less than spectacular. It promised a mainly cloudy day, and chilly too......maybe they had got it wrong.
I for one hoped that they had. I felt sure that a bright sky and a sunny day would be the tonic that...

That title is guaranteed to have folk reading on...isn't it?

After our evening meal on the Tuesday night we went up to our room.
Ma said she was tired and wanted to get a good rest as we were going to be out shopping on the Wednesday.
Ma has to take loads of medications and she absolutely hates them....with a passion.
Since her brush with the big C and her radiotherapy, she has found that she cannot eat cooked vegetables (other than potatoes).
If she does succumb...
