Well, ma got her trip out today...and her lunch at the Thatch and Thistle.

I went up to her house purely on spec......and she wasn't in.......and I had left my key in my other coat pocket....Grrrrr!

I hadn't taken much up with me.....just a bit of fruit and a fresh baked potato with chees and coleslaw...one of her favourite things to eat.
I hung them on the door handle and thought she would have the spud later.

I think that Debs had sussed thay Ma...

I went to see Ma today. Took her some shopping and had a little time with her.
She said that she was feeling totally ticked off yesterday. My sister in law had promised to take her out to do a bit of shopping, and then for lunch. Ma wasn't really bothered about the shopping bit...but was looking forward to lunch at the Thatch and Thistle.
She told me that she was sat there like piffy on a drum...when my sister in law phoned to say she had only just got up - it was 11.30, but I think...

Went across to daughters just before 7am this morning.....child minding duty called.
When I got into the house Daughter was tucked up on the couch....looked awful.....she had been up for most of the night coughing...her eyes were red and her face was flushed.
I went into the kitchen and put the kettle on......No, not for a cuppa....a steam inhalation. I went back across the road to my house and armed myself with two bottles of cough mixture....some menthol crystals and some honey....

Isn't it amazing what the scent of something can do?
One whiff of the Balmain Ivoire and I was transported back to 1967. My husband bought me a small bottle of this perfume when we were in Amsterdam for a few days.

Last night I ripped the cellophane off my large bottle and gave myself a couple of generous squirts.
As the fragrance warmed on my skin I was transported back to that time......

I felt decidedly 'out of sorts' yesterday....not ill exactly, just grumpy and miserable. I don't quite know why.
Anyway, I took myself off on the bus to preston, believing that I would be better out of the way of other folk. I didn't want to bite any heads off...and I thought that a walk around the shops would lift my spirits.
