A 'bitsa' blog

Wow..... a blog! How I have missed not having a blog.
You are never alone with a blog......and you don't need blog paper either (terrible pun).
With a blog you can have a moan, a gripe can be aired and you can tell your friends about a celebration, or just the mundane things in your life.
You can give yourself a pep talk....and often you will find that others(who read your stuff) will give you a bit more pep too.
I could have done with this facility yesterday.
My daughters little boy has been poorly since Sunday.....temperature, sore mouth and as a consequence of that wasn't eating at all and drinking very little.
The pre-school that he attends has had a few of the children off with Chicken pox....so we thought he may have been coming down with this too.
We tried to get an appointment at the doctors, and were told that parents no longer bring their children to see the doctor with these 'minor' childhood ailments. so how does the information that they have had these childhood ailments get onto their records?
And what if the rash is indeterminate?
And what about medicines?
It seems to me that we pay GP's more and more for doing less and less.
Anyway.......my husband took my daughter and her little boy to the practice at 8.20 this morning - just to get an appointment. They received an appointment for 9.10 am....and were still waiting to be seen at 10am....the doctor they had been allocated to had not turned in for duty and the reception staff knew nothing about it...despite the fact that the waiting room was filling up before their eyes....and the patient for an 8.30 appointment was still sat in front of them.
Who manages these people?
Eventually the child was seen by a Nurse practitioner and diagnosed with acute tonsillitis......antibiotics were prescribed and pain relief.
We don't frequent the Doctors very much, and boy am I glad...visiting the surgery is a recipe for hypertension.

I remember several years ago my late husband took our youngest daughter down to the doctor's surgery because he was worried about her and he was told off by the receptionist for wasting doctors time!
How are you supposed to know if it's serious or trivial? That's what doctors are there for - to diagnose.
It sounds like things haven't improved at all.
