Odds and sods.

I know it is winter, and that we should be prepared to have some bad weather, but this dark grim stuff is doing my head in.......There has been no misers light for the last few days.......the house has looked like a cave...even with the lights on.
I went out the other day and I had to go to do the banking for Ma.......why is it that it was only me that looked like the wreck of the Hesperus.......glasses all steamed up and hair all stuck up like sore fingers.
After doing the banking I went in the town hall and bought tickets to the Panto.
It is tiddlers birthday next week....he will be 4(where has the time gone...it seems only two minutes since I was sewing the covers for his moses basket).
He is really looking forward to the panto and asked why he couldn't go today...we told him it doesn't start until this weekend......he says he is really excited
He is having an 'intendo' for his birthday...and his very own copy of Disney Friends.
I asked him if he would let his sister play on it too. He looked a bit thoughtful for a minute and then said 'erm......NO'....so his sister went to her Grandad and said 'Grandad, will you buy me an 'intendo'....a pink one, so that HE doesn't play on it'.
Ma is away off to the Isle of Wight this weekend....a turkey and tinsel break.
My sister in law is going with her as carer, Ma was saying today that she wishes that I could have gone along too......so do I.
I went to the same place they are going to this time last year and really enjoyed it......but daughter has a presentation at Uni on Monday....she also has a piece of work to hand in and get marked so it wasn't possible.
Anyway Ma has been looking at the brochures and has picked out a weekend break for the 4th of January....Harrogate and York...so she is going to book that for us.
She says it will be a little break to compensate for the feeling of anti-climax after Christmas and New Year.
I was hoping that daughter and I could have a day out in Manchester tomorrow......but she says we would be mad to go on a weekend day......it will be bumping.
So we are going to go sometime during the week.
We will have a look around the shops and a pub lunch .......and leave the tinlids with their daddy for the day.
She has worked really hard on the work she has been doing for her degree, and i think a day out would be a good antidote to all that reading......and it is something we can both look forward to.
