Right oh! Well, i will go back a while now...to a church social . I think it was a potato pie supper. Polite conversation was going on which was quite boring as a twelve years old having to behave. Being one of the daughters of the head master( the youngest)The conversation got quite stilted until a woman said to me " Are you clever like your Dad or do you take after your Mother"? My Dad was an academic , my Mother stayed at home with three children. She was well read and very artistic making our clothes and made our home nice with floral decorations and allsorts! She used to do craft stalls which were unheard of then. I often think it was a bad thing to say to a kid. I suppose people who arent artistic dont fully undertand those who are?Posted 17-11-07 at 18:27 by Kiki

Now Kiki, go back to your blog and tell us all about the church social.
I think that being artistic is a gift and should be cherished........some children would feel blighted by such a comment, but me, being me...it would spur me on.Posted 17-11-07 at 19:10 by Magpi 47

I cant really remember much about the church socials, there were normally lots of people there. The potato pie suppers were good. I remember when little ,dancing with my Dad. Waltzing around whilst i stood on his shoes, most women used to dress up with sparkly dresses and men smartly with brylcreemed hair!Posted 17-11-07 at 19:39 by Kiki

The concerts there were good, although i wasnt any good at participating. We used to try and stop ourselves laughing at some of the get-ups they wore. In our attic was a very large tea chest full of Op and Dram stuff. Which consisted of varying decades of fancy dress. So there i would dress up and be the envy of my friends. The tea chest which we could never seem to empty was our ship! I think four of us used to get in and sail off to some foreign place. I had a friend who wore my sisters moth outfit( she wore for A Mid Summer Nights Dream )Jane my friend had prominent teeth and used to cross her eyes when wearing this outfit. The hat was stretchy with antenni,s. We used to laugh alot trying these things on!Posted 19-11-07 at 15:11 by Kiki

Noise
I had a shock last week when the guy next door used a heavy duty drill early one night, it was very noisy and frightened me . I was on my own again and my heartbeat was irregular but i coped allright probably due to the medication. Im having another day at work tomorrow and caught a Midland train on my own to my daughters last week.Posted 17-12-07 at 17:03 by Kiki
