the joys of hospitals!

as a lot of you know i have epilepsy and ive had a lot of fits over the past couple of years and been stuck back under the consultant. Anyway the consultant i see is over at preston royal which when you dont drive and you are in rossendale is a long way to go. To get there tis a drag - 10 mins on the bus, half hour on the train, 20 mins on the bus and then round about 45 mins walking altogether - and then the same to get back home. Went to see him in july and he told me cos i had a long way to travel to get there to come back and see him in 6 months! The next day i had a fit!!! Then i had a sleep deprived eeg in august which meant i had to not sleep before i went to preston royal because they wanted me to sleep while i was there. I fell asleep in the wrong place - then when she wanted me to fall asleep i couldnt but i did eventually fall asleep. Last week i got a letter from the hospital - an appointment to go to and see the consultant today - no explanation so i started worrying what was wrong with the eeg. Rang his secretary no answer - tried ringing 3 times. still no answer. Gave up and rang my gp. He rang me back he told me that he'd got a letter from the consultant that hed got the results and it showed abnormalities but it would do anyway because i have epilepsy but there was a lot of spiking and he said that it could be that he might want to change my medication. So i rang my bro up and asked him if he wanted to take me. He said yes he would and so today we went. Lovely day for it wasnt it. Bro couldnt find anywhere to park - so he dropped me off. I went in and found my way round and ended up going in on my own. I got given one more tablet at night and thats that and go back in 6 months. I made my appointment and stuck the prescription in and was waiting for it before my bro came in looking for me - that tells you how bad the parking is at preston royal!!! Anyway got the tablets and read the leaflet - no alcohol!!!
The only bad thing is im not allowed to drive either so i cant be the designated driver either!!! lol Anyway I got spug coming down Saturday so i cheering up now.
