Its only half done , and its reminding me of when we used to get clay from a local bank of a stream. Which was in Burnley and we used to model things with it then.
Sand martins used to pinch it to make their nests! Funny what comes back to my memory after all these years! |

I love doing crafty stuff but I never seem ti have the time these days. My girls seem to have got the bug now and have both been doing some very creative scrapbooking tonight at a church youth meeting. They put me to shame.
Ooops, sorry for the thread wander Kiki - how's the clay modelling?

Well it was a bit of a disaster really! the clay had been recycled from bits of left overs. I did add to much water so it was was a bit thin in places and cracked
But the kids did some lovely models, with the new air drying clay.It took me ages to get the prep ready. And we found the less you are heavy handed the better, using fresh clay and rolling out a piece for the background. We had made templates for the animals .Then another smaller pieceof clay for the animal which was stuck with lines gorged out with a knife and slip applied to the back, then applied .We put them in wrapped damp tissue ready for next weeks lesson. |
