We had an indoor bath with shower in the late 40s but we still had the loo at the bottom of the garden, with neatly cut newspaper on a piece of string.
We didn't have a fridge (not sure they had reached the UK) but my uncle and cousins were the "Legatti brothers ice company" so we had an ice box with gigantic blocks of ice and in summer we had blocks about 3foot long by 2foot
wide we used to sit on in the garden.
