Walloping kids around the head is bad, and should be stopped
Tapping a 5year old on the hand or bum because it is about to scold itself on a hot stove IS NOT!!!! LEAVE WELL ALONE YOU DO-GOODING GETS How's that? |
I know this is not what you were writing about, but there was something in the paper about a maternity unit stopping other parents and relatives from looking at other babies and cooing over them, as it was infringing the babies human rights with all these strangers looking at them! Erm, how do babies develop? With people pulling funny faces at them, talking to them etc. There's a difference between a total stranger picking your baby up, changing its nappy, feeding it and what not, but cooing at them is normal!
Human rights have gone barking mad. As you said, whalloping kids around the headis wrong, but a tap on the wrist to prevent scolding or getting burnt, isn't. What is worse, a tap on the wrist or a burnt/scalded child?
