Default Re: 90th anniversary of the battle of the Somme!

I had an uncle and great uncle who fought in this war. Great uncle was partially gassed and suffered damage to one leg and had to use a stick, my uncle never was the same. He joined up underage, and he was always a very nervous, agitated person, although he was a lovely person inside.

We are supposed to be the apex of God's creation, higher than the rest of all living things because we have rational thinking. Where are our brains? When will we learn that nobody is a winner after a war. There is so much emotional destruction as well as physical destruction. What mother wants to have a son who has to go to fight battles and die in the process, just to satisfy the few who decide it is necessary. I think eventually the mothers will be so outraged they are the ones who will start to make the difference. There will never be complete peace until each individual heart is changed and thinks in a different way towards his neighbour.

Blessings, Ry
