Thanks for all your replies which I have only just started to read! I visited Anne Street over New Year. There isn't much of it left. But I also found an old map on the Lancs County Council site showing it running parallel to Helena Street. Another giveaway is Anne Close which is clearly over the top of what was once Anne Street. Interesting to hear what a nice street it was. Thank you all.
