Angry Re: Petrol panic buying

There is not going to be any blockades at the moment ,the road hauliers are to meet the goverment this week to try and come to some compromise regarding the % of tax paid on fuel. This does hark back to 2000 when we had petrol shortages, and people remember that. As a result of the action then, Tony Blair withdrew the then increase in petrol duty .We are the 2nd biggest indirect tax payers in Europe (Switzerland being the 1st) Ok Turkeys price per litre my be more than ours, but in comparison the cost of living is realy cheap Ive been there on holiday so I know. Iam not a great beliver in direct action but sometimes thats all that we can do. Regarding the price of red diesel to our farmers, yes it is subsidised but look at the subsidies the French farmers get from the European coffers ,which all of us tax payers contribute to. I have been to France many times, and the impression I get about the French is they dont take things lying down if they think its wrong they fight.
Maybe we can learn from our galic friends.
