Default Re: Neworleans aid!! Is it fair to blame Bush???

I think many people are to blame for the mess in New Orleans. No one person can be blamed. I can't imagine, after the terrible thing that happened, as a citizen of that State, going out and looting all the stores and creating more chaos than already existed, so some blame belongs there. When are we going to realize that it is only by working together, side by side, (like people did in WWII) that things are going to improve. I think the real problem lies with all of us. We can see all the faults that others make, and we can also see what should be done to rectify the situation, but if we were in the same position I wonder if we would react as we think we would. After all, can you imagine thinking you're going to die. Wouldn't you be in a state of shock, totally confused as what is the best thing to do? I know I would! That's not to say that there are certain people in high places that should have taken immediate action, and didn't. Just trying to point out this was a terrible life and death situation for a lot of people, and sometimes we act out of character when under stress.

As for Tony Blair, as a British person living in Canada, I admire him tremendously, He sticks to his principles, is not frightened of saying what he truly believes, and seems to really care about the people of England, and indeed, the world. Sure, he makes mistakes. We all do, but as a World leader I think he is one of the best, both by action and example.
