It's a £6Billion buisness, the most popular pastime being taken up these days.
Although you can fish with little tackle your abilities to change tactice to suit the venue & conditions are more limited.
Current Carp fishing does apepar to require lots of additional gear such as tent, bed, telly, etc but only because it can take several hours - even days to persuade a big carp to take your nice big baits, but once it does it would seem that the wait is worth it.
Although it is mainly the domain of men young & old these days there are more & more women getting into it & finding how relaxing it is to be sat bankside instead of ironing (where they should be) :) |
