Quazfest, a brief history.
Quazfest first hit Burnley back in 2001 at the Kestrel Suite, spurred on by the cancelation of the regular Bands in the Park run by the Council. Slack babbath organised and headlined Quazfest I, with guests I.C.O.N, We become less from Aberdeen and Final Conclusion from Leeds. This all day gig was so successful that Slack Babbath decided to turn it into an annual event which has continued to grow.
For the next 12 months Slack Babbath toured the UK constantly, making lots of new friends along the way which showed in Quazfest II. Held at the Keirby Hotel and featuring stalls for the first time, Slack Babbath invited their good friends Deepest Purple to co-headline along with Cornerstone and Skunk from Cumbria, Uncowboy and Asimov from Burnley. As the record breaking temperatures with the hottest day in written history cooked the audience, the formula for Burnley's biggest annual rock event was set.
Quazfest III saw a return to the Keirby Hotel, Slack Babbath aquired the services of Ironically Maiden, Motorheadache, Asimov (again) and Antimony in order to set the stage for what could possibly be Slack Babbaths final performance. This event saw the largest attended Quazfest in its history. At the end of the night, concern among the audience as to this being the final Quazfest was so high that Slack Babbath promised each and every one of them to keep this regular event alive.
This year Quazfest has moved again to the Circulation, the perfect setting with its cavelike interior for such a highly respected rock event, headlined by Led Balloon with the promise of a long awaited announcement from Slack Babbath, be there to hear it first!!!
and so the nightmare begins again......
