Good luck with your campaign Quazi. | Whey hey just reading though this post and the names of some of the band took me on real trip down memory lane. I can’t remember which band finally got the board put at the bus station (which only lasted a couple of months), but the whole thing stated after Burnley Council had an article in the Burnley Express stating they would prosecute any band for fly posting in the Burnley area. This followed a number of letters in the paper complaining about the number about the number of fly posters in the town advertising a “SkullDuggery” (no Quazi not Dull B*ggery) Gig, I played in the band at the time and have to admit we went a bit overboard. A couple of us had gone out with a ladder and put about 500 posters all over the town, there were rumours that a representative of the council would turn up at the gig but they never did and the publicity in the paper got more people to the gig than fly posters ever would. I’ve been trying to remember when this was ………. Was it 91/92 ish seams some thing never change |
