Thanks Robert, if you scroll up this page you'll see that I've already explained what the weather station is used for, thanks for your concern anyway. I've included an image of the pole and its associated equipment. Essentially, the roadside weather station is a replacement for people working in the Environment section of Burnley council who can't be bothered lookin out the window to see what the weathers like... :tongueout
