I am not a true Burnleyite, but really a Padiham thickneck. Although I was born in Blackburn. Brought up in Rosegrove, council school there. Then to Cheapside, Padiham Council School and Padiham Secondary tech.(Hence the Thickneck) Worked at Mullards, then Senior Foreman at Michelin, before emigrating to Perth Western Australia. Twist my arm and I'll call myself a Burnleyite. After all Bacup Lill, Bobby Nipper and Lily Whip excepted me as a Burnleyite. Not forgetting Tommy Shack.(Shackelton).
Married a Burnley Wooder from Brunswick Street, and have three girls all born in Burnley.
