My attention has just been drawn to the posting 'Dugdales of Roughlee'. You mention Samuel Alfred George Dugdale and his daughters Gladys, Muriel and Joyce'
I married Joyce sixty years ago and we are in fact celebrating our Diamond Wedding today.
I have been writing my memoirs recently and if you can supply me with an address or E mail address I would be glad to send you the piece which I have written on 'The Dugdales'.....which outlines my father-in-laws antecedents on his mother's side.
Incidentally Fernie Dugdale's cattle-carrying business which replaced farming was at Edge End Farm, off Hibson Road, Nelson and not at Thursden. We visited the farm several times many years ago.
It was doubly delightful not just to find your letter but also to come across it today, on our very special day. Our family celebration is held over unti Saturday.
