When my dentist went private, she only kept on some of her patients and I was one of the unlucky ones left searching for a new dentist. I struggled for ages trying to find one, and ended up ringing the NHS helpline to help locate one. The nearest one they could find was in Wigan! Bearing in mind I don't drive, and I have to make up my hours at work when I go to the dentist, it obviously wasn't an option, so I had to go private. I got myself a great new dentist, but I begrudge paying full NHS contributions - I think those of us who have had to go private should pay a reduced amount. |
