More of the housing areas doing up (the ones already done certainly look nicer), more of the empty boarded up buildings doing up or knocking down, more of the scruffy bits of land landscaped...
The Weavers Triangle canal basin thing to get moving (it's crying out for it).. The Oval to get started..
More youth centres (kept a lot of teenagers out of trouble in my younger days)..
More bobbies out and about, better street lighting, hospital services re-instated..
Also agree that we do need more industry..if we can't get the industry though, we need more tourism - perhaps a large museum to attract visitors to the town from other parts of the country? Preston has a famous football museum, Manchester has the Imperial War museum and that other one (Orbis?), how about a museum of music? Don't think there's one of those anywhere now since the large one in London closed. We have other excellent smaller museums, but a large nationally famous one would be a draw. |
