When I get chance I will go over and take some photos.
School would have depended if it was Catholic or not. The nearest junior school to there at the time was the catholic junior school which was Holy Trinity. They have built a new one now further away and the old one has been demolished.
The other junior school then would have been Walter St school which was round the corner and is still going.
The secondary school may have been Mansfield. It changed it's name last year, before then it was Mansfield High School but in the 40's I beleive it was called Mansfield Comprehensive School.
