I'm sitting here getting all weepy and sentimental watching Babs the rhino at Longleat. She'd been a lovely friendly old rhino but suffered from arthritis and various other things and the vet could no longer control her pain. She couldn't go out with the other rhinos.Her back legs were giving out under her and she was falling and hurting herself even more so they had to come to a decision to put her to sleep. She was such a big softy and so loving and trusting but I can understand how hard it must have been to reach the decision to put her out of her misery.
