If you're buying, always have a look at the house at different times of the day. That 'quiet house' might be on the stagger home from the pub and be a nightmare every weekend or be a rat run every morning and evening.

Yes another good point, make sure you visit at different times. Not the house as such, but the street or area and see what it's like. One thing that annoys me is kids running around shouting and screaming and teenies running amock. Don't have that problem now.
