In Darwen where I live theres loads of Indian Restaurants and Take Aways and theres loads of pubs too! It unusual for the only pub in a village to be closing down tho?!
I agree that pubs don't seem to be doing as well as they used to - and like its been said I think the smoking ban can only make things worse! Thats only my opinion of course!!
It's sad when places close down that are part of your childhood and hold memories. If my local closed it would be a shock to the system, it's always been somewhere to go where your guarenteed to know people and have a decent beer and a laugh. |
