Default How to cope with the hangover

Tips:

1. Alcohol is very dehydrating and this is the main cause of a hangover headache. If you drink water between alcoholic drinks you will be more hydrated and less likely to wake up with a splitting headache.
2. If you can, have something to eat before you go out drinking and again when you get home.
3. Remember that dark-coloured drinks such as red wine, brandy and port tend to cause more severe hangovers. 4. Get some fresh air. If it’s safe for you to walk home, then the activity and fresh air will help you to sober up and feel better in the morning.
5. When you get home, drink as much water as you can - up to a pint before you go to sleep. Before crashing out, drink some orange juice or a fruit smoothie.

6. Try to get as much sleep as possible. Your body is working extra hard to rectify the mess you have made of your internal organs.
7. Try taking a vitamin supplement drink that contains vitamins B, C, sugar and salt because these are lost during a drinking session. A flat sports drink is a convenient alternative. 8. And finally, avoid caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic, and you don’t want to be losing any more water at this stage of the game, so no tea, coffee or cola.
