 Burnley Lane Baptist - Homeless Project thingy
I just heard on Radio Lancashire that the old Burnley Lane Baptist church is going to be used as a homeless shelter as part of the Emmaeus Project and that people in the area are objecting to it.
What are the views of members here? How will it affect others?
Personally I think it sounds like a good thing, getting people back into a positive frame of mind and getting them back on the rungs of the ladder to supporting themselves instead of being on the streets with no hope and no prospects for the future.
The spokesman says that there will be no drugs or alcohol allowed, not even for staff and that everyone there will be expected to work.
