Default Re: Lancashire signs - wassup?

Most councils didn't apply. The government needed all the councils to apply so they could abolish Lancashire County Council and continue with removing this county tier across the north west so they could bring in this regional assembly through the back door. Each Unitary Authority would then be in a position to send elected or unelected officials to the authority to make decisions which affect the north west in the same way the northern ireland, scotland and wales do. When the whole countries gone this way, Westminster can be abolished and we'll be electing officials to send to Brussels.

The SNP, PC and similar parties are completely a waste of time, all they want to do is make their own countries independent yet remain part of the EU, this is going to happen soon anywhere.

Those numpties in the town hall must really think we are stupid. Why blame County Hall for needing a Unitary Authority if the Labour government is telling councils to go through with the idea, Labour is essentially telling the Lib-Dems what to do and they've taken it like a moth to flame. Surely Labour should be worried that non-Labour controlled councils will take advantage of the idea, so why propose it?

It's little wonder no one votes these days.
