Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service offer a free fire check at your home and fit a free smoke alarm should you require one. They came to our house yesterday and gave good advice in what to do in the event of a fire and they checked out escape routes and plans of action.
We have 3 smoke alarms but even so they installed a 10 year smoke alarm. We are now looking at having a system that I had in our old house where the smoke alarms are wired up to the main intruder alarm system, meaning no batteries! Much safer, and louder!
Just that little bit extra piece of mind whilst i'm working nights and certainly well worth having them pop around to yours to talk you through it.
