Burnley and Pendle councils voted to be taken out of Lancashire too but needed all the other councils to do the same for the government to agree.
Is their any point in voting in the elections, everything the local council does is dictated by rules set by the government and the local Lib-Dems don't seem to have the balls to tell the council officers where to stick their Labour policies and do what they want.
What we need are councillors who are going to put us first regardless of the threats of suspension and the standards board etc. and do what they were voted to do, not what the government wants them to do, otherwise what's the point in voting in local elections. |
